Sylvia Ann (Brown) Cook

SYLVIA ANN (BROWN) COOK, age 78 of Sterrett, passed away suddenly on April 5, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Jemison, AL on November 2, 1943; the daughter of the late Felton Kyle Brown and the late Alma Lucas Brown.

Sylvia was a former insurance clerk with Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Homewood, and then with American Family Care.

She is survived by: Companion, Ricky Goodwin of Sterrett; Daughter, Sonja Cook (Michael) Horton of Milton, FL; Son, Kyle (Donna) Cook of Clanton; Daughter, Stacy Cook of Montevallo; 5 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Virginia (Charles) Collins of Thorsby; Sister, Ruth Barnett of Jemison; and Brother, Glenn (Ann) Brown of Prattville.

She is preceded in death by: Parents, Felton and Alma Brown; Sister, Betty Barnett; Sister, Joyce Hilyer; Sister, Eva Jean Chamberlain; and Brother, Kyle Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton, AL.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison, AL.
