Vaughn Austin Easterling

VAUGHN AUSTIN “POPEYE” EASTERLING, age 79 of Clanton, passed away on December 29, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Choctaw County, AL on November 29, 1946; the son of Levis Easterling.

He was a former heavy equipment operator with Operators Engineers Union Local 21.

He is survived by: Wife, Janice Self Easterling; Son, Vaughn Austin (Roxie) Easterling; Son, Amos Clyde (Erica) Easterling; Daughter, Margie Easterling Schmidt; Grandchildren: Taylor, Austin, Amos, Cain, and Penelope; Great Grandchildren: Jasper, Austin, Amelia, and Scarlett; Brothers, Frank Conroe “Snap” Easterling and William “Big Jim” Easterling; and Sisters: Betty Byrd, Vickie Moseley, and Patsy Edwards.

At Mr. Easterling’s request, no services will be held.
