William Edgar Busby

WILLIAM EDGAR BUSBY, age 85 of Jemison, passed away on January 11, 2026 at Baptist Health-Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, AL. He was born in Calhoun County Mississippi on January 22, 1940; the son of the late James Woodrow Busby and the late Lillian Hinton Busby.

He was a former machine operator with DeShazo Crane Company.

He is survived by: Granddaughter, Lisa (Luke) Wright; Great Granddaughter, Abbigayle Wright (Eric) Mitchell; Great Grandson, Alexzander Wright; Great-Great Granddaughters, Adelyn Mitchell and Ellie Kay Mitchell; and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by: Wife, Billie Kittrell Busby; Wife, Emma Jean Busby; Wife, Edith Busby; Son, William “Buzz” Busby, Jr.; Daughters: Deann Busby, Paula Kay Busby, and Lisa Busby; Great Granddaughter, Emily Wright; Brother, James Homer Busby; and Sister, Margaret Busby Sumrall.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Blankenship officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Entombment will follow in the Martin Memorial Mausoleum in Clanton, AL.
