WILLIAM EARL “BIG DADDY” WILLITTE, age 79 of Plantersville, passed away on September 21, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Dallas County on August 18, 1944; the son of the late William Willitte and the late Jessie Dobbs Willitte Crawford.
“Big Daddy” worked for Taylor Made in Maplesville, AL since 1980. He finished his job most days by 5pm and headed for home. On Sept. 21st just after 5pm, “Big Daddy” finished his earthly job and entered into his eternal home in Heaven. He heard the words “Welcome thy good and faithful servant, your work on Earth is done.”
He married Geneva Mobley on July 10, 1964 at Alpine Baptist Church and they shared 59 wonderful years together. Together they attended Alpine Baptist Church where he was ordained as a deacon in 1971.
He is survived by: Wife, Geneva Mobley Willitte of Plantersville; Sister, Sandra Roberts (Ronnie) Adams of Selma; Sister, Mary (Pam) Ballard of Opelika; Sister-in-Laws: Gail (Keith) Marchant of Plantersville, Merle Walker of Plantersville, and Molly Dees of Clanton; Brother-in-Laws: Doug (Shirley) Mobley of Plantersville, Roy (Elsie) Mobley of Oneonta; and Bobby Hayes of Billingsley; Special Children, Fred Hayes and Anna Harrison; Special “Babies”: Abby, Levi, Aiden, and Luke Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 2:00pm from Alpine Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Jones, Rev. Tater Harrison, and Rev. Keith Chandler officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow in the Alpine Baptist Cemetery in Plantersville, AL.
