William "Billy" Howard Walker

WILLIAM HOWARD “BILLY” WALKER, age 79 of Jemison, passed away on July 19, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Blount County, AL on March 27, 1945; the son of the late William Grady Walker and the late Ada Mozelle Huffstutler Walker.

Although being disabled from a young age due to an accident, Billy never waivered in his two passions of life; farming and Alabama Football. He enjoyed rural farm life and tending to his cattle. Billy also enjoyed watching and attending Alabama Football games. He had a hard work ethic and expected the same of those around him. His cattle and their care came first, even if it meant missing a football game from time to time.

He is survived by: Sister, Essie (Ronny) Price of Jemison; Sister, Frances Bennefield of Arab; Sister, Minnie Pearl Martin of Thorsby; several generations of nieces and nephews; Best Friend, Beverly G. Hanson of Norman, OK; and Best Friend, Michael Don Price of Jemison.

He is preceded in death by: Parents, Grady and Mozelle Walker; Sister, Rebecca Walker; Brother, Jackie Walker; Niece, Donna Jo Price; Nephew, Michael Martin; and Nephew, Rusty Blackwood.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00am from Pates Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Brandon Price officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery in Thorsby, AL.
