Betty Joyce (Smitherman) Knight

BETTY JOYCE (SMITHERMAN) KNIGHT, age 62 of Verbena, passed away on September 9, 2019 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. She was born in Chilton County on December 17, 1956; the daughter of the late Otis Smitherman and the late Shirley Robinson Smitherman.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by: Husband, Doc Knight of Verbena; Daughter, Brandy Knight of Verbena; Son, Jesse Knight of Verbena; Granddaughters: Kaitlin Knight, Shelby Knight, Summer Knight, Alexis Knight, and Haley Knight; Grandsons, Shawn Knight and Matt Knight; Great Granddaughters, Charlee Knight and Ella McCormick; Sister, Cynthia Smitherman of Clanton; and Brother, Wayne Smitherman of Jemison.

She is preceded in death by her Daughter, Stacy Knight.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 7:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. Greg Gann officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Following the service, in accordance with Betty Joyce’s request, she will be cremated.
