Coy Mitchell Hayes

COY MITCHELL HAYES, age 76 of Marbury, passed away suddenly on March 2, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on June 24, 1942; the son of the late William Raymond Hayes and the late Clara Dell Hayes.

He was a former truck driver.

He is survived by: Wife, Linda Knight Hayes of Marbury; Son, Carey Hayes of Coopers; Daughter, Michele Hayes (Keith) Mims of Selma; Daughter, Christi Hayes (Kevin) Patterson of Marbury; Grandchildren: Alex Mims of Las Vegas, NV, Cierra Hayes of Marbury, Selena Patterson of Marbury, and Brian Patterson of Marbury; Brother, William Earl Hayes of Marbury; Brother, Frank Hayes of Marbury; and Brother, Donald Hayes of Prattville.

He is preceded in death by: Parents, William Raymond and Clara Dell Hayes; Brother, James Edward “Buddy” Hayes; Brother, Charles Wayne Hayes; and Sister, Clara Sue Rooks.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 5-7pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 2:00pm from the Verbena Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler Eiland officiating.

The body will be in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton, AL.
