CURTIS MORGAN GRACE, age 65 of Opelika, AL, entered the arms of his Savior on July 12, 2019. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany on October 23, 1953; the son of the late William Green Grace and the late Alice Reid Rogers Grace.
Curtis was a graduate of Opelika High School in 1971. He studied law enforcement at Auburn University from 1971 to 1972. He graduated from Hinds Community College in 1977 with a degree in respiratory therapy. Curtis was a Registered Respiratory Therapist. His career in respiratory therapy included caring for patients at various hospitals such as Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN and Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.
He spent his free time fishing, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. He was an avid reader as well as writer; with a collection of poems and short stories he composed. Curtis was a devoted father, loving brother, and supportive uncle. He loved helping others reach their potential and was a friend to everyone he met.
Curtis is survived by: Daughter, Jennifer (Phil) Jones of Clanton; Sister, Diana (Clifton, Jr.) Minter of Prattville; Brother, William (Pat) Grace of Opelika; Brother, Robert Grace of Birmingham; Brother, Earl Grace of Montgomery; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life service will be held on July 25, 2019 with Pastor Matt Davis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Mountain State Park.
