ERMAN JAMES CLECKLER, age 93 of Jemison, passed away on August 26, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Chilton in Clanton. He was born in Chilton County on August 10, 1925; the son of the late John Archie Cleckler and the late Lula Pearl Scott Cleckler.
Mr. Cleckler was a former construction superintendent. He was known especially for his trim work and attention to detail. He was a lifelong member of the Pates Chapel Baptist Church. He served many years as a deacon. He also served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
He is survived by: Son, James G. (Wanda F.) Cleckler of Jemison; Granddaughter, Kimya M. (Shane) Crumpton of Jemison; Grandson, Deven (Claudia) Cleckler of Mobile; Great Grandson, Chance Crumpton; Great Granddaughter, Mikaila Crumpton; Great Grandson, Noah Crumpton; Great Grandson, Sebastian Cleckler; Great Grandson, Ethan Cleckler; a host of nieces and nephews; and a loving church family at Pates Chapel Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his Wife of 67 years, Lorene R. Cleckler; along with an infant son.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 2:00pm from Pates Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Jones and Rev. Randal Mims officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow in the Pates Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Jemison, AL.
