Michael Harrison "Spot" Davenport of Alabaster, passed away on May 27, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Birmingham. He was born on October 3, 1951; the son of the late Charles Harrison Davenport and the late Barbara Joan Wyatt Davenport.
He was a painter.
He is survived by: Children, Chris (Valerie) of Hoover, Regina Errington of Eugene, OR, Mark (Leila) Davenport of Heflin, Emily Price of Siluria, and Matthew (Crystal) Davenport of Siluria; 18 grandchildren; Sisters, Susan (Corky) Overton of Alabaster, Cindy (Ricky) Pickett of Brierfield, Lisa (James) Griffith of Gallant, Robyn (Chuck) Tucker of Calera, and Kelly (Sandy) Dawson of Montevallo; other relatives, Cheryl Street, Steve (Debbie) Street, Rachel Street, and Stacey (William) Waites; and host of numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Barbara Davenport; Son, Charlie Davenport; and brother, Kenny Davenport.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 1:30pm from The Branch at Mission Hills Church in Alabaster with Rev. Brooke Lovett officiating.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Thursday at the church beginning at 11:30am.
Burial with military honors will follow at the Alabama National Veteran’s Cemetery in Montevallo at 2:45pm
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and doctors with Safe Harbor, the Birmingham VA Hospital Pallative Care Unit, and also to Veronica Sterling, RN with Alacare home health.
