Sarah Nell (Ellison) Kirkland

SARAH NELL KIRKLAND, age 86 of Clanton, passed away on July 22, 2019 at St. Vincent Chilton Hospital in Clanton. She was born in Chilton County on September 7, 1932; the daughter of the late Lunize Ellison and the late Ester Meek Ellison.

Sarah worked for over 28 years at Peach Park in Clanton.

She is survived by: Daughter, Sue Smitherman of Clanton; Daughter, Janice Ingram of Okeechobee, FL; Son, Austin Knox of Clanton; Son, Troy (Grace) Knox of Prattville; Son, Ronnie Knox of Clanton; 14 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; and 11 Great-Great Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, Leonard Paul Knox; Son, Rickey Knox; Son, Roy Knox; Grandchildren: Rickey Knox, Jr., Darrell Ingram, Justin Knox, and Jeremy “Bo” Knox; and Great Grandchildren: Kelsey Smitherman, Ricky “Ethan” Knox, and Savannah Smitherman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.

Burial will follow in the Lime Springs Cemetery in Clanton.
