BETTY FRANKLIN (SHOEMAKER) MINOR, age 89 of Calera, passed away on June 8, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Shelby County on January 18, 1931; the daughter of the late James Luther Shoemaker and the late Stella Estell Davis Shoemaker.
She was a former seamstress. She was a devoted mother and wife of 63 years. She will be remembered as a fierce competitor at the games of Yahtzee and joker, and an energetic buck dancer.
She is survived by: Son, Randy Minor of Calera; Daughter, Susan Minor Labiosa of Tampa, FL; Granddaughter, Kim Delgado of Calera; Granddaughter, Nicole Minor Adamson of DeFeriat, NY; Great Grandchildren: Kaitlyn Minor, Haley Delgado, and Nikolas Delgado; and Great-Great Granddaughter, Tori Holtzclaw.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 2:00pm from the Shelby Memory Gardens Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Calera with Rev. W.C. Clark officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, AL.
The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Betty’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
