Debra Diane (Alverson) Cost

DEBRA DIANE COST, age 60 of Calera, passed away to her Heavenly home on June 5, 2019 at her residence surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Chilton County on April 30, 1959; the daughter of the late James Daniel Alverson and Opal Mae Johnson Alverson.

Debbie worked at Calera Intermediate School with the Child Nutrition Program for 20 years. She will be remembered for greeting everyone with a warm and welcoming smile. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and a very proud grandmother who cherished her grandchildren. Debbie will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

She is survived by: Husband of 41 years, Kenneth Dale Cost; Daughter, Melissa (Russ) Powers; Son, Eric (Brandy) Cost; Grandchildren: Logan Powers, Summer Powers, and Carson Dale Cost; Mother, Opal Alverson; Brother, Danny Alverson; Brother, David Alverson; Sister, Linda (Danny) Davis; Nieces: Michelle Rood, Jennifer Weltzin, and Amanda Long; Nephew, Timothy Alverson; and a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, extended family, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her Father, James Alverson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 2:00pm from the Aldrich Assembly of God Church in Montevallo, AL with Rev. Jerry Phillips officiating.

Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, AL.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
