Donnie Ray Patterson

DONALD “DONNIE” RAY PATTERSON, age 64 of Clanton passed away on September 25, 2018 at his home. He was born in Clanton on December 19, 1953; son of the late Ernest Patterson and Gladys Edwards Patterson.

Donnie spent more than 40 years in the logging industry. He was affectionately known to his family and especially his grandchildren as PawPaw.  He enjoyed time spent with his family and especially if it was time spent fishing or cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley Patterson of Clanton; Children, Jimmy R. (Misty) Patterson of Clanton, Sherry L. (Donathon) Jacks of Clanton, Brandy P. (Scot) Phillips of Gilbertown, AL, and Tanya (Marvin Mims) of Clanton.; 9 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren; Siblings, Ricky Patterson of Clanton and Jackie (Virginia) Patterson of Clanton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Gladys Patterson; and siblings, Roger Patterson, Linda Williams, Gail Rhodes, and Christine Lockhart.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.

Burial will follow in the Clanton City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 5-8:00pm at the funeral home.
