EDITH ADELL (HAFER) BLACKMON-BUSBY, age 60 of Jemison, passed away on August 19, 2021 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. She was born in Jefferson County, AL on November 23, 1960; the daughter of the late Richard C. Hafer, Sr. and the late Edith Hazel Lesley Kirby.
She worked at Homeland Assisted Living Facility. She was also a member of Amazing Grace Church.
She is survived by: Husband, Bill Busby of Jemison; Brother, Richard (Sandy) Hafer, Jr. of Jemison; Sister, Renee Hafer of Jemison; Nephew, Ben (Allison) Hafer of Jemison; Niece, Heather (Phillip) Blackmon; she was a beloved “Aunt Effie” to great nieces and nephews: Jase Blackmon, Easton Hafer, Aubrey Hafer, Conner Hafer, Zaydie Hafer, and Kimber Hafer; Honorary Mother, Nancy Lesley; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by: Husband, William A. Blackmon; Father, Richard C. Hafer, Sr.; Mother, Edith Hazel Kirby; Grandparents, Charles and Maggie Hafer; Grandparents, Shirley and Mae Lee Lesley; and Great-Niece, Rylee Blackmon.
A family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 11:00am in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens South in Hoover, AL with Rev. Scott Bush officiating.
There will be no visitation.
