Gaines Silas Obituary

GAINES RUSSELL SILAS, age 78 of Clanton, passed away on October 29, 2021 at his residence. He was bornin Chilton County on February 17, 1943; the son of the late Guy Russell Silas and the late Minnie Pearl Mims Silas.

He was a former truck driver with Central Alabama Electric Cooperative.

He is survived by: Wife, Linda Silas of Clanton; Son, Gaines Forrest (Jamie) Silas of Clanton; Grandson, Austin Silas of Clanton; Brother-in-Law, Neal Montgomery of Pleasant Grove; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by: Parents, Guy Russell and Minnie Pearl Silas; and Sister, Barbara Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Chilton County Sheriff John Shearon and Rev. Shane Wyatt officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Cemetery in Verbena, AL.

The family request no flowers, please make a contribution to the Gideons International – Chilton County Camp.
