JOHN KENNETH FREDERICK, age 57 of Calera, passed away suddenly on June 3, 2018 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. He was born in Shelby County on July 22, 1960; the son of the late Benny Burke Frederick, Sr. and Barbara Ann Martin Tharp.
He was a union iron worker with Local 92. He was employed by G&R.
He is survived by: Wife, Regina Frederick of Calera; Son, John Kenneth (Stephanie) Frederick, II of Pooler, GA; Step-Daughter, Misty (Robert) Blackmon of Alabaster; Step-Son, Leslie McClain of Calera; Step-Son, Wesley McClain of Montevallo; Grandchildren: Kevin McClain, Ean McClain, Trebor Blackmon, and Parker Blackmon; Mother, Barbara Tharp of Maplesville; Sister, Marie Herring of Panama City, FL; Brother, Benny (Laura) Frederick, Jr. of Montevallo; and Sister, Michele Peck of Navarre, FL.
He is preceded in death by: Father, Benny Frederick, Sr.; Step-Father, Jerry Tharp; and Sister, Becky Hollis.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home at Shelby Memory Gardens with Rev. Dewey Wilhite officiating.
Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, AL.
