Kathryn Souzan (Tate) Glass

Kathryn Souzan Tate Glass age 65 of Jemison was welcomed into her Heavenly home on June 2, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 18, 1954 in Alabama to the late, Samuel Luther Tate, Jr. and the late Sylvia Florine Glenn Tate.

She retired from the Shelby County Board of Education as a school teacher for many years at Calera Elementary.

She is greatly mourned, missed, and survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Joe Wayne Glass; Children, Trudy (Shane) Crowson, Josh (Jessica) Glass, Emily (Anthony) Lightsey, and Amanda (Neil) Bradford; Grandchildren, Kristiann, Corvis, Katie Beth, Caroline, Carol, Kyla, and Braelyn; Great-grandchildren, Phoenix Williams and Pharaoh Crowson; Siblings, David M. (Lynn) Tate, and Vicki A. (Benny) Dunn; and many other extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Sylvia Tate and her sister, Linda Darlene Tate Austin. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. Roger Willis and Rev. Tom McMahon officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Rocky Mt. Community Cemetery in Jemison. 

The family requests no flowers, in memory of Kathryn, please perform some random act of kindness. 

Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home of Clanton.
