LINDA JOYCE (STEPHENS) SMITH, age 68 of Clanton, passed away on September 15, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Chilton County on May 11, 1951; the daughter of the late Emma Jean Stephens Fancher.
She was a former security guard with Champion Security in Gulf Shores, AL.
She is survived by: Daughter, Tracy Smith of Clanton; Son, Randy Smith of Clanton; 7 Grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; Sister, Christine Levins of Clanton; Brother, William (Rosalba) Burdeaux of Randolph; and Brother, Robert Burdeaux of Jemison.
She is preceded in death by: Husband, John “Buddy” Smith; Daughter, Vickie Smith; Mother, Emma Jean Fancher; Sister, Charlotte Collum; Sister, Carolyn Burdeaux; Sister, Margie Lindsey; and Brother, Earl Burdeaux.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 4:00pm from New Hope Baptist Church (Old Smith Schoolhouse) in Jemison, AL with Rev. Jeff Mims officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
