Marshall Waites Obituary

MARSHALL HARDING WAITES, age 97 of Clanton, passed away on June 25, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Coosa County on April 6, 1921; the son of the late Ephriam Baxter Waites and the late Ada Susan Penton Waites.

He was a former pipe liner superintendent. He also served his country in the United States Air Force in World War II.

He is survived by: Daughter, Judy (Ray) Murphree of Clanton; Daughter, Betty (Stephen, Sr.) Brantley of Millbrook; Daughter, Marsha (Chris) Johnson of Clanton; 6 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; and Nephews, J.M. Waites and Allen Waites of Birmingham.

He is preceded in death by: Wife, Mary Sue Waites; Parents, Baxter and Ada Waites; and Brothers, Merrill Waites and Sherrill Waites.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 12:30pm until 1:30pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 2:30pm in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rockford, AL with Rev. Ernest Fike officiating.
