Pennie Vee (Payton) Mims

PENNIE VEE MIMS, age 55 of Clanton, passed away on August 18, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Chilton County on February 16, 1964; the daughter of the late Carl Oneal Payton and the late Mary Sue Johnson Cleckler.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by: Son, Joey (Candace Horton) Mims of Clanton; Daughter, Jessica Mims of Dothan; Grandchildren: Brooklyn Mims, J.J. Speer, Alyssa Speer, Maddy Mims, Anna Mims, and Zoey Mims; Brother, Benny Payton of Maplesville; Sister, Sherry Ware of Southport, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, Dennis Ray Mims; Father, Carl Oneal Payton; Mother, Mary Sue Cleckler; and Brother, Steven Oneal Payton.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 4:00pm from the Billingsley Church of God with Rev. Wendell Kelley officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
