Rev. Aubry Lee Wallace

REV. AUBRY LEE WALLACE, age 87 of Maplesville, passed away on January 29, 2023 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. He was born in Chilton County on September 2, 1935; the son of the late Roy Moody Wallace and the late Vannie White Wallace.

Rev. Wallace honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, seeing service in both the Vietnam Conflict and the Korean Conflict. He was the longtime owner of the Heart of Dixie Service Station on Hwy 82 in Maplesville. All of his life he served the Lord Jesus in the capacity of a bi-vocational minister. He pastored Ebenezer Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church No. 2, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and Bethany Baptist Church, all in Chilton County, along with churches in California and Texas during his lifetime. He also enjoyed a 15-year career in law enforcement in Chilton County, serving with the Town of Maplesville, City of Clanton, and the Chilton County Sherriff’s Department. Rev. Wallace was also a former Chilton County Commissioner. He also enjoyed flying and camping, owning a couple of airplanes and motorhomes over the years. He was privileged to have traveled around the world on three separate occasions. He was blessed with a full life; a life of love and devotion to his Lord Jesus, his family, his community, and his country.

He is survived by: Wife, Shirley Wallace of Maplesville; Son, Aubrey Kurt (Connie) Wallace of Maplesville; Daughter, Windy Kay (Ricky) Barr of Maplesville; Son, Timothy Dean (Jennifer) Wallace of Foley; 9 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; and Brother, Roy Wallace of Maplesville.

He is preceded in death by: Son, Mackel Allen Wallace.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 5-7pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Hoyt Chastain and Rev. Paul Armstrong officiating.

A family graveside will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist No. 2 Cemetery in Lawley, AL.
