Richard Powell

CLARK RICHARD POWELL, age 75 of Clanton, passed away on December 26, 2020 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was born in Chilton County on August 21, 1945; the son of the late Reedie Lee Powell and the late Vera Mae Anderson Powell.

He was a carpenter. He was a faithful member of Pinedale Assembly of God where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He will be remembered as a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life.

He is survived by: Wife, Joan Mims Powell of Clanton; Daughter, Teenya (Randy) Sutton; Son, Tad (Kim) Powell; Granddaughters: Jessica (Austin) Bartolic, Avery Powell, Elizabeth Sutton, Addison Powell, and Ainsley Powell; Grandson, Elijah Sutton; Great Grandsons; Sawyer Bartolic, and Grady Bartolic; Sister-in-Laws, Linda (Charles) Turner and Jo Mims; Brother-in-Law, Ronald (Karen) Mims; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He is preceded in death by: Parents, Reedie and Vera Mae Powell; Sister, LaVerne Lockhart; and Brother, Donald Powell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 5-7pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00am from Pinedale Assembly of God Church with Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.

The body will be in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Walnut Creek United Methodist Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
