Susie (Cooler) Riley

SUSIE (COOLER) RILEY, age 91 of Verbena and formerly of Ridgeland, SC, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024. She was born in Jasper County, SC on March 1, 1933; the daughter of the late Jasper and the late Bertie Cooler.

Mrs. Riley was an accountant and retired from Gold Bond Building Products in Georgia. She loved her family. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and a friend to many. She loved working in her garden and her flowers. She was also a devoted Christian.

She is survived by: Daughter, Debbie (Mike) Dennis of Verbena; Granddaughter, Tessa Riley of Lake Park, GA; Great Grandsons: Austin Dennis of Clanton, Hunter (Alex) Henson of Alabaster, Drew Henson of Auburn, and Nathan Riley of Fargo, GA; Great Granddaughters, Alia Kate Dennis of Clanton and Riverlyn Rose Riley of Fargo, GA; and Sister, Kaye C. Lovell of Augusta, KS.

She is preceded in death by: Son, Larry J. Riley; Granddaughter, Tonya Dennis Seaton; Grandson, Brian Dennis; Grandson, James Thomas Riley; Parents, James and Bertie Cooler; Brother, Earl Cooler; Brother, Jack Cooler; Sister, Thelma Tillotson; and Sister, Faye Cooler.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton, AL.
