Thomas Canaan Obituary
THOMAS O’DONNELL CANAAN, age 85 of Jemison, passed away on November 4, 2020 at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Homewood, AL. He was born in Loxley, AL on November 22, 1934; the son of the late William Thomas Canaan and the late Myrtle Lucy O’Donnell Canaan.
He was a former educator.
He is survived by: Son, Stuart (Becky) Canaan of Columbia, SC; Son-in-Law, Doug Broadwater of Jemison; 4 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; and Sister, Corinne White of Raleigh, NC.
He is preceded in death by: Wife, Joan Myers Canaan; and Daughter, Suzanne Broadwater.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2020 at 6:00pm from the Union Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Evie Megginson officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Entombment will follow in the Grandview Mausoleum in Maryville, TN.
The family request in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in Tom’s memory to the Union Springs Baptist Church in Randolph, AL.
